Ink on paper. Signature, date and title below. Accompanied by Authentic on photos of the Giò Marconi gallery in Milan and a private archive stamp. This is the design of the young artist who will soon have one of the most important exponents of world surrealism, who was a poet and painter, but also a filmmaker, art and cinematographic critic, photographer and humorous designer. Born in the north of France, in 1927 he settled in Paris, where he came into contact with a group of young poets and philosophers, with whom he founded the '' Grand Jeu '' movement: the game is intended as an art of living. Since 1928 he has collaborated with texts, poems and drawings in the Movement magazine and meanwhile collaborated as editor and reporter with various Parisian newspapers, in 1932, he exhausted the experience of the '' Grand Jeu '', passes to the surrealist movement, collaborating in his publications e participating in his exhibitions. His humor turns towards the unusual and cruelty, increasingly derisive than the absurdity of the newspaper, of the tragic side of the common existence, to which spirit and unconscious rebel, trying to access the inseservation. He meets Salvador Dalí. In 1939 he also began his filmmaker's activity, in 1941 his first personal exhibition in Paris took place: the first buyer is Pablo Picasso. He participates in all surrealist exhibitions, including the 1947 international one in Paris. In 1951, for issues relating to the internal discipline of the group, abandoned the surrealist movement with others, while continuing to practice its poetics. In 1955 he was also passionate about photography. Since 1968 he devoted himself almost exclusively to painting, abandoning the activity of a humorous designer. In the same year he settled definitively in Milan: in Italy he exhibited in various personal exhibitions, those of Milan at the Marconi Gallery. The work presented here, a youth design, comes from an important Milanese private collection. It is presented in the frame.
Conoce a Salvador Dalí.
